Who is Marie ?...and what is the purpose of this site ?!

That's true, but who is this Marie? And why is there a website dedicated to her?

Well, you see, to begin with, Marie is a little bit of a woman, my little bit of a woman.…💟

Hey yes, if you thought that the layout of the site, the title and the Template would lead you to think that it was certainly designed and managed by a woman, well no haha, it seems according to my colleagues, that this is due to my exacerbated feminine side coming out !!!

Before going any further, I'd like to introduce myself, the writer and initiator of all this, and explain the purpose of it all...

However, if you don't want to read a novel with a personal note, I advise you to go to the bottom of this page to get to the point.  ⬇️….I promise I won't hold it against you.

My name's Mathieu, I'm 39 (20 in the head), ‘not necessarily all my teeth’ (a pun that works better in French lool), I'm a Project Manager in industrial mechanics in the design office at NiproPharma in Aumale.

4 years ago, I married the woman I fell in love with at school 22 years ago.

She gave me two wonderful children, Noéline in 2010 and Gaspard in 2014.

This woman is Marie, my sweet and beautiful wife, and it's for her that I've opened this website.

Marie is in charge of a shop called ‘Wind's Mariage’, she loves her job, which she has been doing since she was 16. she is an expert in her field, as the reviews on google will testify.

Her colleagues love her, as do her bosses, for the kindness and good humour she radiates within her team, as well as for her recognised technical skills.

Marie, if I had to describe her in a few points about her personality I could say that :

It's an aura of love, kindness and madness in perfect harmony in a soul of tenderness.

She's the kind of woman who sheds a tear when an animal is mauled in a film, and who sheds a tear every time she watches Mufasa's death scene in The Lion King.

every time she watches Mufasa's death scene in The Lion King, even though she's seen it 1,000 times.

She's also the kind of crazy woman who never thinks about the bad and always finds a positive note even when everything's going wrong.

The kind of girl who never asks for anything, who forgets herself because the most important thing for her is not beautiful things but the people around her.

She's an empress of peace in her home, always trying to find a middle ground between dad's rigour and the children's hardiness. She's the secret ingredient in a recipe that works, in a family.

She's a caring woman who likes to please with her cooking, who leaves words of love in her children's bags and her husband's wallet.

She's a wife who has put up with 7 years of financial hardship so that her husband can go back to school (because he dropped out at 17, the idiot!!!).

She's also a woman with a phenomenal memory, who remembers what I was wearing and the first time she fell under my spell.... (it's said that it was during the first hour of lessons at secondary school, when she was handing out copies.... but who can remember that?).

she's also the kind of person who, when she loves...it's 1000%, today my wife knows exactly what I'm thinking just by looking at me or the children....I find that incredible!!!

That's Marie, at least a small part of it. I think I'm enormously lucky to be loved by a woman like her, and I sincerely believe that a passionate and excessive love like hers is a gift of life for those lucky enough to experience it, because it's a great deal of happiness, and I wish that for all of you.

That's all well and good....yes, but there's a but.....that ‘but’ I've learned to hate, just like some of the words I'm going to quote on this site.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The personal and boring part is over, the main thing is here!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks ago, as I write these words, a tumour was discovered on my wife's brain stem. Not a very nice tumour, in an inoperable area called ‘GLIOME’.

Treatment is underway, with a protocol based on radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and we hope that the tumour will take a break, but we know that since 15 March 2024 we have been living with a sword of Damocles hanging over the life we have built up over all these years.

I won't go into all the details here, but I invite you to have a look around the site to get a sense of the seriousness and medical urgency.

However, in my research I've been able to learn that there are currently surgical options and clinical trials underway to increase the chances of returning this tumour to oblivion, and some of the trials are very conclusive. It's true that you can count the number of trials on the fingers of one hand, but they do exist !!!!

Today, Marie's goal is total recovery. The protocol put in place by the Amiens University Hospital is hard to bear, and will probably take up a lot of her energy.

We've gone into figth mode....🥋🥊

So it was with this in mind that I had the idea of opening this website/blog to give greater visibility to our distress. You see, the main aim is to find a hospital with the necessary skills to perform even partial surgery on this tumour and, why not, to give Marie the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial.

You can share this website via your social networks, tell others about it, or help us financially by buying a ‘Les 1001 nuits de marie’ support goodie, which you can find on the website (available soon) or by participating in the leechti..... fundraising campaign.

There are lots of things that are going to be put in place to support Marie in her fight, so take a look at the ‘support’ category on the site or become a member of the Facebook Group to keep up to date...

Thank you in advance, to all of you, whatever your support.

I hope you enjoy browsing our site.

Mathieu.
